'The Cries From The Cross'

The Lord of Glory had lived among men but He was not wanted. Now at the last the Saviour is nailed to a Cross.

There Christ hangs suspended between Heaven and Earth but presently his pallid lips are seen to move.

But what is he saying ? Is he crying for pity ? No. Is he hurling abuse at his torturers ? No. Is he praying for himself ? No.

This is what he is doing as the pain racked words come from his lips “ Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.”
